Steven Bowen, PT, DPT
Steve Bowen grew up in Newbury Park California, and graduated from Newbury Park High School. He continued his studies at Brigham Young University (GO Cougars!!) where he received his BS in Exercise Science. During his undergraduate studies Steve sang in the BYU Men’s Chorus, and was involved in athletic marketing. He put his schooling on hold from June of ’00-’02 to be a missionary in Korea, where he learned a new culture, language, and taught the Korean people. Following graduation from BYU he continued his studies at the University of Utah, earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy in May 2010.
Steve enjoys learning so he continues to study and advance as a clinician by participating in continuing education. He has extensive training in manual therapy and has completed several Maitland-Australia Physiotherapy Courses. He has also taken courses in Kinesiotaping to improve neuromuscular control and edema management. He has a background in the management of Parkinson’s using the LSVT BIG program for limb movement, and has been certified in Gary Grey Applied Functional Science.
Steve has always been involved in some sort of athletic activity throughout his life and continues to stay active with cycling and soccer. He stays up with athletic injuries and can be found on the sideline of local football games. He is also a consultant and therapist to major league baseball players. He takes an active approach to his treatment and wants full body recovery for his patients to return to what they love doing most. Most importantly Steve is a husband and father who loves spending time with his wife and kids.
